Pre-21 Thoughts.

Alrights!

Once again i’ve not written for a record high period of time.
And yes, i attribute it to my laziness, twitter, fb, tumblr — as well as the skin/template. Its not that its not nice, its just that it doesnt make me.. “feel” like writing. Will change it soon.

Anyway. Today’s the one day i have left as a 20-year-old. I have no plans, actually, but since i do have time, i’m doing some reflection etc.

Just last night, at around 3 in the morning, i was taking a leisure walk/stroll (don’t ask me why at such a time, i’m puzzled too) around the kallang/kallang-bahru estates. I came across this playground with swings, and without any hesitation, went up on it. After a while, (yea, a while) it dawned upon me that i was no longer a kid, nor teen, and in fact turning 21, for that matter. U might think i got off the swing immediately after such a vivid realization — but No — it was 3am, who cares? I sat there for a while, pondering about my future, and the now, as well as the past. (duh)

Alright now the birthday itself doesn’t really mean anything to me. I’m not a fan of birthdays. BUT, the change in phase of life has got some punch to it. New roles, new responsibilities – like going back to studying in university, earning money to support my family, taking over the family mantle etcc. Many things will change, my perspectives will change, but i pray that all in all, my gaze and focus remains solely on God.

The Lord gives, and the Lord takes. But yet will i praise the Lord

I know not what the future holds, but what i do know is that they’re all in His mighty hands.

So yup, 21, or rather, next challenging phase of life, with all its distractions, security downfalls and tribulations, here I come, in the name of the Lord Almighty. My strength and power comes solely from Him who reigns, and I will trust in Him alone.

16 No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save

18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
   on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19 to deliver them from death
   and keep them alive in famine.

 20 We wait in hope for the LORD;
   he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
   for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love be with us, LORD,
   even as we put our hope in you.

-Psalm 33:16-22 NIV

A new phase of life, is also a new phase of wants! Like clothes, gadgets, and stuff. lol. My current aim is to have a new age geek look for school! Let’s see how things go then~

Below is a PV (promotional video, jap lingo) of Yuya Matsushita, 松下優也, who i listen to — and who was born on the exact same day as me. Yes, same day, same year. One thing that attracts me about him, is that he dares to live for his dreams. We’re the same age, but he’s kinda.. much, much further in realizing his ambitions. BUT, i’ll try my bestest and hardest in the days to come still!

だから、 松下さん!一緒にで頑張るな!
